Why is everything EXCEPT those twoitems down?
Are the greedy Madoff types worried that they’ll be spending only nickels and drinking OJ from now on, now that the Democrat agenda is dead in the water?
Maybe its just me, but all the crap I see about trading Futures Contracts all revolves around being a chart monkey who works on trading strategies with no real foundation. The only true foundation is Supply and Demand. Not moving averages or special trading bands or resistance levels. All that stuff is just garbage..
What I want to know, is how can you trade based solely on the Supply/Demand fundamentals of a commodity? For instance, Oil. Who has the historical average for monthly consumption of oil globally? Then checking that against the running supply of oil production to determine next month, there will be a glut of oil and I should be short? Or if supply won’t meet demand and their will be an oil shortage?
I wish to know as to where I can learn commodities trading in New Delhi, please help
I have some friends in finacial planing and ehy have to chase people around for their money to invest with them. Do commodities traders do the same thing? do they chase people around to park their money with them and they trade on their behalf? How do they make money? I am quite new to this area but I have heard you can make a lot of money and also lose a lot of money. Do you have to study finance to go into that path or any degree will do as long as you know the right people? Can somebody alsogive me a webste where i can read some examples of how trading in comodities work? I am also looking for somebody to reccomend me a book on the subject.
why are oil barrels traded on exchanges these days? why not just between 2 parties? Is this (trading on exchange) the only way to determine oils price in global market? How was the price determined 50 yrs back then?

I’ve tried a lot of websites and books but none of them break it down fully for someone just getting familiar with this. I basically understand the idea of hedging, but I get a bit lost when people talk about spreads and basis and most of all, I don’t understand the link between physical commodities and all these bits of paper that are apparently traded on futures exchanges.
Is there a lot of money in trading commodities? Is it for the individual investor? And is it possibly more solid than stock trading?
How does one become a commodity trader ? Can one become really good at it ?
