Does anyone know the job outlook for medical sonographers in the Kansas City area?

08 Aug

I am wanting to check into working in this field.I don’t trust the colleges or trade schools because they just want your money,so they will tell you anything to get you to attend.Let me clarify…I don’t trust checking with them first.

HVAC Service Tech Job Outlook? And Is 40 Too Late?

07 Apr

I just turned 40 and am looking at switching careers. Been self-employeed for 15 years and am burned out. The type of work I do has kept me in good physical condition. It involves me working outside year round and being at several different locations during the day, both of which I enjoy…despite Cleveland winters. That part of the HVAC Service field attracts me since I enjoy being “out and about”, interacting with new people, etc.

I’m also fairly handy with a multimeter, having a basic knowledge of electronics, and can troubleshoot sensors/etc on vehicles, along with decent mechanical skills. I enjoy troubleshooting things.

For all the above reasons I think I’d like the HVAC field. Few questions: If I only want to be a service tech (not do installs), and would prefer residential work with some light commercial thrown in maybe, would I be considered too old? I can’t see that involving too much physical labor. I hear the market is good? Trade Schools In Cleveland? Etc. Thanks!

2 Q’s About Seattle Seahawks 2009 Draft Outlook?

06 Apr

1. Is there a REALISTIC possibility that the Hawks’ trade possible 2nd and 4th round pick to a team with a late 1st round pick 18-26 and 5th round pick, and choose to take Brian Cushing, OLB from USC, in late first round??

2. I have read many 2009 Mock Drafts and alot of the most recently revised drafts say that the Hawks’ trade draft picks 2nd round and 4th round for late 1st round and take Knowshon Moreno, Georgia Running Back, Does anyone agree with me that, that would NEVER happen?
I doubt that they will trade a Guaranteed Draft pick for an Unguaranteed QB in Vick…which their is slim chance of them getting Vick, considering Ruskell doesn’t get anyone that has no character..

Is my Economic Outlook just Paranoia ?

05 Apr

Hello Camrien:

How are things going for you? I hope well.

Over here, there is a very good chance we may be headed for a recession, maybe even a depression. This may have a deep world wide economic impact for those countries who trade heavily with us.

I have been trying to learn how to become more self sufficient. I can no longer continue to trust our governments to be able to provide for even the most basic services: Not that they would if they could. They have always acted strange, secretly getting into foreign countries, robbing them of their resources and throwing us a bone to keep us compliant . Now, they seem to have decided to do it to us too: I guess one can say we deserve it. It does not look good for anyone who may try to stand in their way. The situation reminds me of things just before WWII, only this time the Nazis are in the U.S.

Not everybody is blind to what is happening, but most everybody is helpless. Some believe it is the fluoride that is being added to our drinking water that is making us passive; it’s technology that was used to control war prisoners. The media is very well controlled here too; our news is not much more than propaganda. The only way one can tell we are being manipulated is by researching on the Internet. Very few adults have the time to do the research since they work 8 to 10 hours a day and come home tired. Their health is poor because they eat nutritionally poor food that also may contain harmful preservatives. To make matters worse, they have little time to exercise. It is very difficult to try to show others what is happening, most don’t want to believe it and don’t have the time and energy to find out for themselves. Yet for the few who have awakened, it is all too clear.

I expect the dollar to hit bottom sometime in the middle of this year: A planned crash by the powers that be. Once again the Federal Reserve Bank has acted fiscally irresponsible to swindle the wealth away from the people. Their scam effectively concentrates the worlds wealth into the hands of those privy to the plan. This privately owned Central Bank did the same thing in the early 1900′s; giving us “The Roaring 20′s” only to be followed by “The Great Depression”. I saw this coming several months ago, but even then gold was already at $700 an ounce; too late to convert dollars to gold. At the risk of fueling a recession, I advised my family to stop spending and to pay off their bills including their home mortgages. Most just chuckled; They refuse to believe the party may be headed for a crash. I have decided to build some green houses for growing food and filtering water, while it is still possible. Food and water can always be used as a form of exchange. I expect bad conditions to last for several years (2 to 3). Afterwards, I expect things to be much different: The U.S., Mexico, and Canada may be merged to form the American Union.

I tried to read your report from your recent trip to Germany. I sense you have become very aware of how politicians and governments can become corrupted by money and power. Another participant posted pictures in his report; nice smile. I hope your country is not affected too much by the conditions I foresee. I fear things may become dangerous here for those who oppose the new order or just simply have nothing to offer it.

Take care, Joe

To change your outlook on life, do you first have to recognize your own insanity?

04 Apr

I think it’s fair to say everybody operates with a certain level of insanity. A “normal” person is someone who’s insanity is so innocuous or boring, most people don’t notice it. And we all go through some point in our lives when we have to confront something “crazy” we did. So I’m not going to judge one person’s “crazy” against another person’s. Maybe your crazy is really fun, and makes you an exciting person to be around. Or maybe it’s a little scary, and people don’t like talking to you much. For most people, it’s just something boring that isn’t too exciting, or too scary, but just makes them different.

So we all have a bit of insanity lurking around in our brains. The question is how much do you have to confront this insanity in order to change or improve who you are and how you see the world around you?

Bonus question: how common is it to trade one kind of little crazy for another? Which means, you “fix” one, just to have some other eccentricity crop up.

Sorry if the question feels too personal. I know we just met and all…
Alexander- To take your bonus answer a little further, maybe you can pick a “good” productive insanity to trade for your destructive or self defeating one. If, for example, you want to work out and feel healthy, but little things stop you. If you face those little things you might find a replacement crazy that heps you get into the gym more.
btw My Opinion – Yep. Scary. Hopefully a good scary… Muahahaha.

Do you drive an ’08 or ’07 Saturn Outlook or Saturn Aura? (More details – Don’t bother to answer if you don’t)

26 Mar

Don’t bother to answer if you don’t, but I understand if you want to sneak for 2 points.
What model do you drive, XE or XR?
What made you decide to get it?
What other vehicles, if any, were you comparing it to?
Now that you’ve had it for a little, are you happy with the purchase? Why or why not?
If you traded, what did you trade in to get your Saturn?

My wife and I are looking to buy an Outlook and an Aura. I’m reading whatever reviews I can find on the ‘net and just thought I’d post a question here as well. In addition to the questions above (sorry about asking so many), feel free to offer any other opinions, suggestions, or comments you feel will help.

Thanks sincerely for your time!

What’s your outlook for Japanese stocks?

23 Mar

Any opinions for the near term in Japan? Will the continued unwinding of carry trades boost the Nikkei?
Wow. Great stuff. Thanks. So I guess I would probably want to stay away from a Japanese long equity fund but that may be a good sign for a dollar bear fund that I own if the Yen might be poised to appreciate vs. the dollar.

Thanks for the help.

Trade in 2007 Saturn Outlook for Mariner Hybrid?

21 Mar

So this is the situation. I get about 16/18 with my Saturn Outlook FWD. Although the gas savings are a definite consideration, that’s not the main reason why I want it. If I buy a hybrid, I can get into the carpool lanes without having to pick up strangers (slugging). I live in Woodbridge, and go to school in DC. I have 2 years of undergrad left, then 4-6 of grad school (all in DC). My Saturn is worth about 22K, but I owe 26. I know negative equity isn’t great. But it’s too expensive and time consuming to make the commute to DC back and forth. My children go to school here. If I move closer the rent is astronomical. I’ve heard the Mariner is the best deal for SUV hybrids. Opinions here: Do you think buying the car is worth it. I’m thinking that the negative equity is offset by gas savings, time savings and possible rent savings (Don’t pay any rent in Woodbridge, would have to pay anywhere from 300-1000$ extra to move closer to DC)
Oh I forgot to add. The commute to DC in HOV takes about 30 minutes. On regular 95 lanes, it’s anywhere from 1-2 hours
